Kerala Assembly Election Results: Early Trends Show Left Democratic Front Leading

As counting of votes began in Kerala for assembly elections, early trends showed Left Democratic Front is ahead with 31 seats, Congress and its allies are up seven, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in three seats. Most of the early votes have been counted from Malabar in north Kerala.
