Political Backlash After Centre Extends Tenure Of Probe Agency Chiefs

The centre's move to bring ordinances to extend the tenure of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) up to five years has sparked a political row. While the Congress has accused the ruling BJP of trying to secure itself and its friends, the Trinamool Congress has moved notices for statutory resolutions in Rajya Sabha, objecting to the ordinances.
