Protesting Farmers Say Won't Leave, Police Say Time's Up

The standoff between protesting farmers and the police at Gazipur border in Delhi continues, even as the Uttar Pradesh government asked farmers to end their protest and return home. However, the farmers have said they are determined to stay and more are expected to join them. The opposition parties have said they will boycott the President's address in parliament today in solidarity with farmers protesting against the new farm laws. The budget session of parliament begins today. Former chief economic advisor Arvind Subramanian says the government should avoid major surprises in the budget and the problems of the financial system must be addressed. DMK chief MK Stalin will launch his "Stalin at your constituency" campaign today, where he will personally take complaints in all constituencies.
