Derek O'Brien, 7 Others Suspended Over Rajya Sabha Chaos On Farm Bills

A day after controversial farm bills were passed amid dramatic opposition protests and verbal clashes in the Rajya Sabha, the government is likely to seek action against members seen tearing up papers and pulling off mics. The government is likely to ask that the members be suspended, sources said on Monday. At the same time, opposition parties are also gathering forces to discuss a response to yesterday's chaos and counter the government; they allege that the ruling BJP forced the bills through in a voice vote in a hurry.
