Coronavirus Cases In India Inch Towards 50,000-Mark; 1,694 Deaths

Coronavirus cases in India inched towards the 50,000-mark as the country registered 49,391 cases, including 1,694, according to the latest figures from the Union Health Ministry. In the last 24 hours, 2,958 new cases and 126 deaths were reported. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the special task force created to meet the challenge posed by the highly contagious virus.
